Russian Hanging Skittles, also known as hanging or Swedish skittles, is a centuries-old game played outdoors or indoors, involving a suspended ball swung to knock down a 3×3 arrangement of wooden pins. The player stands or sits about 1.2–1.4 meters away and swings the ball backward to hit the pins from behind, scoring points by knocking down as many pins as possible in up to three throws per turn. Adapted for disabled players, it allows mixed-ability competition with assistants helping those who need support, including visually impaired participants guided in aiming. The game is low-cost, safe, and growing in popularity across European parks and recreational spaces, with national federations working to standardize rules and organize inclusive competitions.
