Dis+Abled SPORT brings together sports and games designed to be played by people with physical and visual disabilities alongside able-bodied players — an innovative approach to social inclusion and equal opportunities in sport.

About the project

Inclusion by and through sport

The project uses a unique combination of sports to include and integrate people with physical and visual disabilities (PwD) with able-bodied people (AbP). Instead of separating players, we adapt the rules, the equipment and the field so that everyone can play the same game — together.

We work with three families of sport:

Our objectives

What the project delivers

Practical, ready-to-use knowledge for coaches, teachers, clubs and organisations who want to make sport accessible to everyone.

A practical manual

40–60 selected Paralympic, traditional and other sports from each partner country, adapted to the needs of social inclusion of people with disabilities and their integration with able-bodied players.

Educational workshops

Technical and educational workshops in Poland, Croatia, the Czech Republic and Italy, where coaches and players learn the adapted games in practice.

Promo-educational events

Open events, webinars and films that spread the knowledge and show how inclusive sport works in real life.
