Kubb is a Scandinavian throwing game believed to originate from Viking times, though its modern version developed in the 20th century. Played with 10 blocks and a central “King” block, two teams compete by knocking over each other’s blocks with sticks or bean bags. The team that topples all the opponent’s blocks and then the King wins. It can be simplified for casual play or made more complex with rules involving “defender” blocks. Kubb is inclusive, calm, and ideal for small spaces. Adaptations for wheelchair users include reducing pitch size and using assistants; for visually impaired players, bright colors or sound-enhanced equipment can be used.
