Dis+Abled Thouckball

Tchoukball was invented in Switzerland by Hermann Brandt to reduce injuries in contact sports and encourage a more inclusive, cooperative approach to physical activity. The game combines elements of handball, volleyball, and squash, but strictly forbids physical contact and interception. Players throw the ball at a rebounder with the goal of having it land outside the forbidden zone or in specific allowed areas. Teams must coordinate passes carefully, taking limited steps and holding the ball for only a short time. The game can be played by people of all ages and abilities, including wheelchair users or those with visual or cognitive impairments. Equipment and rules can be adapted to ensure accessibility, making tchoukball a fully inclusive sport that promotes strategy, coordination, and social interaction.
