BOCCIA

Boccia is an inclusive and strategic sport designed primarily for people with physical disabilities but also played by able-bodied individuals. Players or teams throw or roll colored balls toward a white target ball called the “Jack,” trying to get as close as possible. The game is played on a flat court with precise markings and uses specialized balls of specific weight and size. Boccia promotes social integration and improves physical and mental skills such as hand-eye coordination, concentration, and teamwork. Assistive devices like ramps and pointers are used by some players depending on their classification. The game can be played individually, in pairs, or in teams, with players competing over several timed rounds. Boccia encourages solidarity, responsibility, and brings together people of different abilities, making it a valuable sport for social inclusion.
