Stop, also known as Wołany in Poland, is a fast and joyful game of running, freezing, and dodging that works indoors or outdoors. One player tosses a ball, calls a name, and after the ball is caught, all others must freeze when “Stop!” is shouted. The tosser then takes a few steps and tries to hit a chosen participant with the ball, switching roles depending on success. Traditionally, the game has no winners or losers, though competitive variations can add elimination rules. Adaptations allow wheelchair users to play with assistants and a safe, obstacle-free area, while visually impaired players can use brightly colored or sound-enhanced balls. The game encourages laughter, inclusion, and quick reactions, making it suitable for groups of mixed abilities.
